Your breasts can be too large for your body as a whole or no matter how much weight you lose, you still might look chubby because of your large breasts. Breast reduction surgery can be done at any age after the breast tissue completes its development.

Breast reduction operation is carried out under general anesthesia. During the operation, breast tissue is made smaller and lifted up and given an aesthetic form. There are different techniques for these operations and these can be divided into 3 groups: 1-the method that leaves a scar only around the nipple, 2-the methods that leave a vertical scar from the nipple down to the lower part of the breast and 3- the methods that leave a vertical scar from the nipple down to the lower part of the breast and a horizontal scar on the lower folding of the breast (in the form of a reverse T). In choosing the appropriate method, your doctor will take into account various factors including the size of your breast, degree of reduction, degree of sagging of the nipples, your age and your expectations related to the scars. With all breast reduction operations, scars become almost invisible in time and the overall appearance gets better.

The patient usually stays at the hospital one night after the surgery and can return to work one week later. You will be asked to wear a special bra for 4-6 weeks after the surgery.
