The patient would be recommended to apply cold compression on the eyes and keep his/her head high. The stitches on the eyelids are usually removed on the fifth day. It takes 2-3 weeks for the bruises and swellings around the eyes to heal.

Eye lid aesthetic surgery does not remove the dark shades and goose feet lines around the eyes. It does not help lift sagged eye brows. Thus, your doctor can recommend additional interventions such as eyebrow lifting for the sagged eyebrows or Botox for goose feet lines.

What are some undesirable conditions that might occur after the surgery?

The most feared complication is a bleeding in deep tissues which may damage the eyes and cause temporary or permanent loss of vision. Any suspicion as to such bleeding necessitates early intervention. However this is extremely rare and there are only a limited number of cases with such bleeding in the literature.

Another complication is sagging of the lower eyelids. In such cases, a second intervention might be necessary after a certain period.
